Summer Reading

Hello Families,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Anna Dempsey, and I am the new director at Ladd Public Library District. When you visit the library, you can still find library clerks, Paula and Ethel, but you may also see some new things. I hope you stop by to check things out, especially over the summer. This year’s theme is “Build a Better World,” so many of our stories and activities will focus on that.

There are a lot of things planned for this summer:

  •  Young Adult & Adult Reading BINGO
  • sign-up & grab your BINGO card at the circulation desk
  •  Tuesday Storytime @ 10:15-11 - birth-K
  • Summer Bookmark Reading Incentive
  •  “Tower of Books” Summer Reading Challenge
  • sign-up & pick up your packet at the circulation desk - grades 1-5
  •  Monday Movies & popcorn @ 1:00pm
  • movie will be announced prior to that day
  •  Friday Festivities @ 10am-6pm
  • stop by anytime for board games, cards, coloring, DIY craft, etc.
  •  Specialty Activities
  • scavenger hunts, STEM challenges, slime making, etc.
  • Some activities may require sign-up to ensure we have enough materials
  •  End of Summer Reading Reward
  • Once you finish your Summer Reading (challenge, bingo, bookmark), you are eligible for the reading reward.
  • Rewards will vary based on age groups.

Keep an eye on the library’s calendar for more details about events and times. You can find library information at www.laddlibrary.com and our Facebook page. Don’t forget to update your BCRalerts to add the Ladd Public Library District! Reminders and library news will be sent out this way also. I can’t wait to see you at the library and read some good books! Everything begins Tuesday, May 30.

Happy Reading,

Mrs. Anna Dempsey
